CP-86-49 (INTERIM REPORT)
Dear Mr. Johnson:
On October 10, 1986, we notified you of a reportable deficiency involving the effects of polar-organic solvents on the sealants of Conax adaptor modules and electrical penetrations. This is a follow-up interim report of a reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
Applicable construction procedures and the coating engineering verification program were modified to include provisions which ensure solvents, that affect end sealants, do not contact the sealants during the application of coatings.
Procurement and replacement of the affected modules is continuing.
We anticipate submitting our next report by January 30, 1987.
Very truly yours, Mn' W. G. Counsil JDS/mlh c - NRC Region IV (0 + 1 copy)
