DOCKET NO. 50-445 DRILLING / CUTTING 0F REINFORCING STEEL IN THE FUEL HANDLING BUILDING SDAR: CP-86-50 (INTERIM REPORT)
Dear Mr. Johnson:
On August 29, 1986, we verbally notified your Mr. T. Westerman of a deficiency involving the drilling / cutting of reinforcing steel in the fuel handling building. This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
Specifically, cutting activities have been noted in the fuel handling building which extend possibly to the third layer of reinforcing steel in cases where only cutting the first layer of reinforcing steel was authorized or evaluated.
We are continuing our evaluation and anticipate submitting our next report by November 1, 1986.
