CP-86-57 (INTERIM REPORT)
Dear Mr. Johnson:
On August 29, 1986, we verbally notified your Mr. T. Westerman of a deficiency involving the reinforcing steel in the Unit I reactor cavity wall. This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
During construction of the Unit I reactor cavity wall, additicnal reinforcing steel was added to a drawing and subsequently deleted without any record of design calculations being made. We are continuing our evaluation and anticipate submitting our next report by November 1, 1986.
