CP-86-34 (INTERIM REPORT)
Dear Mr. Johnson:
On May 1,1986, we verbally notified your Mr. T. F. Westerman of a deficiency where we may have exceeded the design temperature of the unexposed surface for some fire seal designs during an ASTM E-119 fire test. This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
We have submitted an interim report logged TXX-4834, dated May 30, 1986.
Upon receipt of the vendor's (BISCO) design matrix, the Fire Protection Group will correlate the various qualification to the specific installed seal types.
This correlation process will identify any design deficiencies which may exist.
We are continuing our evaluation and anticipate submitting our next report by August 15, 1986.
