Dear Mr. Johnson:
On May 28, 1986, we verbally notified your Mr. I. Barnes of a deficiency involving LOCA evaluations regarding the effects of the operational status of plant equipment during Mode 4 operation on the Emergency Core Cooling System's performance. This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
The Westinghouse Owner's Group (WOG) and Westinghouse have been requested to provide additional information that is necessary to conduct an evaluation of this issue. We are continuing our evaluation and anticipate submitting our l
next report by August 13, 1986.
