Dear Mr. Johnson:
On April 2, 1986, we verbally notified your Mr. T. F. Westerman of a deficiency involving the capacity of the present fan cooler design in the Safeguard area to adequately handle the heat load in specific rooms. This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
Ebasco Services, Inc. is currently engaged in performing an evaluation of the as-built heat load of each room serviced by the Emergency Fan Coolers that comprise the Safety Chilled Water System. We are continuing our evaluation and anticipate submitting our next report by July 14, 1986.
