Dear Mr. Johnson:
On January 17, 1986, we verbally notified your Mr. T. Westerman of a deft-ciency involving an apparent inconsistency in the implementation of doweling requirements for pumps and drivers.
Proper implementation of the doweling requirements is accomplished through the initial startup and testing programs which address doweling after pump operations. Although these measures may result in different doweling configurations for each unit, consistent implementation of manufacturer, engineering, and project requirements is established and documented.
We have determined that no condition adverse to safety would exist in the event the concern had remained undetected.
The issue is not reportable under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
