Sodium hypochlorite when dissolved in water it is commonly known as bleach, or liquid bleach. Sodium hypochlorite is frequently used as a disinfectant or a bleaching agent.
Sodium hypochlorite is used at JAF in the Chlorine Injection system for injection into the Fire Pump bay, the ESW Pump bay, the NSW pump Bay and into individual Condenser Water Boxes (FM-36A / FM-42C).
Spill reporting
100 lbs for reporting requirement per 6NYCR Part 597 and 40 CFR 302.4.
- 100 lbs of 15% Sodium Hypochlorite = 65 gallons
Release in a 24 hour period.
