UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 ALL AGREEMENT STATES, CONNECTICUT, INDIANA INFORMATION SESSIONS TO DISCUSS PROPOSED CHANGES TO MATERIALS INSPECTION PROCEDURES (STC-21-065)
Purpose:
To inform the Agreement States that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will hold information sessions on September 14, 2021, and September 27, 2021, to discuss the proposed changes to materials inspection procedures.
Background:
The Inspection Manual Chapter (IMC) 2800 Phase 3 Working Group is developing risk modules in each inspection procedure. The current inspection procedures contain focus elements; however, the revised procedures will contain different numbers of risk modules depending on the risks of the relevant types of radioactive materials and their usage.
There are currently ten Inspection Procedures out for comment that were shared with the Agreement States via Radiation Control Program Directors Letter RCPD-21-006.
Discussion: The IMC 2800 Phase 3 Working Group is hosting two information sessions to provide awareness of the changes being proposed to ten Inspection Procedures that are currently with the regions and the Agreement States for comment. This meeting is open to all regional and headquarter representatives, in addition to Agreement State representatives, interested in learning more about the proposed revisions to the materials inspection program.
The information sessions will be held virtually September 14, 2021, and September 27, 2021, 1:30 to 3:30 pm EDT. The link for the meeting is provided below:
