Revision I A Pursuant to 10CFR50.54(p)(2), llouston Lighting & Power submits Revision l A of the South Texas Project Security Personnel Training and Qualification Plan. None of the changes described in this revision represent a lessening of plan effectiveness.
The revision strengthens the overall training and qualification program by better defining security officer duties. The plan revision contains the following substantive changes:
1.
The duties of security force personnel have been redefined to better reflect their assignments and responsibilities. A description of each duty position and its responsibilities is provided in Appendix A.
2.
Crucial tasks have been directly linked to duty positions. The association between crucial tasks and duty positions is shown in Appendix B.
3.
Appendix C identifies task conditions and standards for each crucial task.
4.
Cardiopulmonary stress testing has been added as an alternative means of physical fitness evaluation (Section 2.5.2).
5.
The standard for passing written and oral tests has been raised from 70% to 80%.

Crucial tasks have been consolidated in order to group related skills and I

knowledge under a single task heading, in addition, several new' tasks have been identified. Those few tasks eliminated were too general in' scope to establish meaningful proficiency standards. Attachment I relates the new and old tasks.'

The plan has been reorganized and reformatted for easier reference.
8.
The revised plan is restructured to preclude the necessity for its classification as Safeguards Information.
