Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attention: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 South Texas Project Unit 1 Docket No. STN 50-498 fsecial Report Regarding Pluoqino of Unit 1 Steam Generator Tubes Pursuant to the requirements of STP Technical Specifications 4.4.5.5a and 6.9.2, Houston Lighting & Power (HL&P) submits this Special Report regarding plugging of Unit 1 steam generator tubes.

HL&P completed the Fall 1993 inservice inspection of the Unit 1 steam generators on October 7,

1993.

The inspection resulted in the plugging of fifty-one (51) tubes between all four steam generators.

A breakdown per steam generator is provided below.

The reasons for the tube plugging are summarized by the following.
