Gentlemen:
In accordance with condition 4 (a), 4 (b) and 4(c) of Ref.
1, LIPA-5 l
hereby submits notification of pending changes to the Shoreham-Decommissioning Plan (Ref. 2).
It is LIPA's understanding that, unless directed otherwise, LIPA may ipnlement the changes described herein after 30 days of the cate of this notification. contains a' copy of the revised Shoreham Decommissioning Plan, Chapter 4.0 entitled " Proposed Termination Survey".
This termination survey overview was developed from the Shoreham Decommissioning Project, Termination Survey Plan, Revision 0, October 1992 which is hereby provided as enclosure 2.
A companion document entitled " Nuclear Organization Management l
Control Program For Decommissioning Termination Survey Program Description (PDXOM-01)" is also p'rovided as enclosure 3.

LIPA's Site Review Committee (SRC).

I The pending changes have been determined to involve no unreviewed safety question, and will not result-in environmental impacts different from and exceeding those set forth in LIPA's Supplement j
to Environmental Report of December, 1990.
Additionally, the pending1 changes'were discussed during the October 22-23,-1992 meeting at Shoreham and-during subsequent i
phone conversations with-NMSS personnel.-:Because.of these j
detailed discussions-and exchange of information the NRC Staff i
notified LIPA;that they are sufficiently familiar with the l
Termination Strvey Plan to recommend that we begin implementing l
it by-proceeding with the outdoor surveys.
LIPA looks forward to further discussions with-NMSS which may lead to additional 2-enhancements to the Shoreham Termination Survey Plan.-
