The facility may also be referred to in files as Maywood Chemical Works. Specifically, I am requesting copies of documents associated with the Sites Docket number, Docket 40-8610, prior to 1980.
After speaking with a librarian at the Public Document Room at the NRC, I learned there are approximately 13 documents dated prior to 1980 associated with Docket 40-8610, which are held by the NRC but are not publicly available on the ADAMS web database.
In addition, I am requesting copies of the following Site inspection reports and associated documents: 1. Maywood Chemical Works Inspection conducted on or around May 24, 1957, including the associated Process Description. 2. Part 40 Inspection of Maywood Chemical Works conducted on August 30 and September 4, 1963. Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Items of Interest Week Ending May 24, 2024 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Accepted and Docketed the Kemmerer Power Station Unit 1 Construction Permit Application for Review On May 21, 2024, the staff issued a letter notifying US SFR Owner, LLC (USO), a wholly owned subsidiary of TerraPower, LLC, that the Kemmerer Power Station Unit 1 construction permit application has been accepted and docketed for review (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML24135A109). The application, submitted on March 28, 2024, proposes the construction of a one-unit reactor facility in Lincoln County, Wyoming. The staff will issue a subsequent letter outlining the schedule and resource estimates for the review approximately 30 days following the acceptance letter issuance.
Adam Silverstein is Named the New Westinghouse Executive Vice President (EVP) of Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety (QEHS) and Chief Quality Officer (CQO)
On May 20, 2024, staff was notified that Adam Silverstein was named the new Westinghouse Executive Vice President (EVP) of Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety (QEHS) and Chief Quality Officer (CQO). He replaced Jill Redmon upon her retirement. The EVP for QEHS is responsible for Westinghouses global regulatory affairs and employee concerns program in addition to CQO responsibilities.
NRC Accepted a License Amendment Request (LAR) Submitted by Holtec Decommissioning International, LLC (HDI) to Revise the Palisades Site Emergency Plan and the Emergency Classification Scheme On May 1, 2024, Holtec Decommissioning International, LLC (HDI), submitted a license amendment request (LAR) to revise the Palisades Site Emergency Plan and the emergency classification scheme to support the planned resumption of power operations at Palisades Nuclear Plant. On May 23, 2024, staff issued its letter accepting the application for review. This LAR is part of several licensing actions HDI has requested in order to enable the restart of Palisades Nuclear Plant.

Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards Items of Interest Week Ending May 24, 2024 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Approved Exemption Request from Constellation Energy Generation, LLC to Allow Use of MPC-37-CBS Canisters at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 and Unit 2 ISFSI On May 20, 2024, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff approved an exemption to Constellation Energy Generation, LLC for Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant Units 1 and 2 independent spent fuel storage installation (ISFSI). Calvert Cliffs used MPC-37-CBS canisters in storage and plans future loading of MPC-37-CBS, which does not meet the terms, conditions, and specifications in the certificate of compliance for the HI-STORM FW Cask System. This exemption was issued eight weeks earlier than the requested date, and it would allow ongoing storage of nine MPC-37-CBS canisters and the future loading of six MPC-37-CBS canisters at Calvert Cliffs ISFSI beginning in July. The exemption decision will be published in the Federal Register (ML24108A132).
