Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Items of Interest Week Ending June 2, 2023 Constellation and NRG Energy Announce that Constellation will Acquire NRG Energys 44 Percent Ownership Stake in the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station On June 1, 2023, Constellation and NRG Energy announced that Constellation will acquire NRG Energys 44 percent ownership stake in the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station. The South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company will retain the operating license for the plant. Constellation plans on submitting an indirect license transfer request by mid-June 2023, with a requested issuance by the end of November 2023.

Office of Administration Items of Interest Week Ending June 2, 2023 Enterprise-Wide Contract for the Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses Work for Others Technical Assistance and Research Support of Activities Under the Responsibility of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Program Offices On May 31, 2023, contract number 31310023D0005 was awarded to Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, TX. The purpose of this contract is for the Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses to provide, within its special competency areas, technical assistance and research support to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission program offices in performing and accomplishing their mission, programs and activities related to both the front and back end of the nuclear fuel cycle. The period of performance is from June 1, 2023, through March 29, 2024, with four option periods. The total potential value of the contract can be up to $4,299,877.00.
