Items of Interest Week Ending June 10, 2022 NRC Holds Eighth Workshop on Vendor Oversight On June 1-2, 2022, the staff successfully conducted its 8th Workshop on Vendor Oversight.

The workshop was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic and had over 300 participants from 10 countries. Key topics presented during the workshop included: (1) NRC staff's response to the NRC Office of the Inspector General's reports on counterfeit, fraudulent, and suspect items; (2) Nuclear Procurement Issues Corporation audit team & supplier interface before, during, and after the audit; (3) assessment of laboratories owned by the U.S. Department of Energy; (4) commercial-grade dedication inspections at licensees; (5) lessons learned from inspecting during a pandemic; (6) implementation of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) guidance on hybrid and remote assessments; and (7) lessons learned from implementing the EPRI guidance on hybrid and remote assessments.

NRC Staff hold Second Public Meeting Requesting Feedback for Digital Instrument and Control Systems On June 8, 2022, the office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation staff held a second stakeholder outreach meeting to inform and solicit external stakeholders feedback on the staffs proposed expansion of current policy in staff requirements memorandum to SECY 93-087, regarding potential common-cause failures in digital instrument & control systems with the use of risk-informed approaches. The NRC staff made a formal presentation in the meeting. The staffs presentation is included in ADAMS Accession No. ML22155A001. The stakeholders feedback will support staffs development of a Commission Paper to expand the current policy regarding digital instrumentation and control common- cause - failure. The staffs policy paper to the Commission is expected in July 2022.

Items of Interest Week Ending June 10, 2022 NRC Headquarters (HQ) Information Technology Video Teleconference (VTC) Support Services On June 6, 2022, contract number 31310022C0016 was awarded to Fellows Corporate Consortium, LLC in Foster City, CA. The purpose of this contract is to purchase operational support services for the non-secure technical and management support functions required to support day-to-day NRC HQ VTC operations. The period of performance is from June 7, 2022, through December 9, 2022, with three option periods. The total potential value of the contract can be up to $916,468.80.
