Items of Interest Week Ending April 6, 2018 Charter Contract for the Operation of the Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses as the NRCs Federally Funded Research and Development Center - Sixth Renewal On March 30, 2018, contract 31310018D0001 was awarded to Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, TX. The purpose of this Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract is to provide the necessary personnel, materials, equipment, facilities, and other services to provide technical assistance and regulatory analysis support of its regulatory program. These nuclear fuel cycle activities include, but are not limited to, reprocessing, extended storage, storage/transportation, regulatory process improvements, future geologic disposal regulatory programs, and advanced fuel programs. The period of performance of this contract is from March 30, 2018, through March 29, 2019, with four option periods. The total potential value over the life of the award is $51,999,812.

Enterprise Wide Contract for the Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses Work-For-Others Technical Assistance and Research Support of Activities under the Responsibility of the NRC Program Office On March 30, 2018, contract 31310018D0002 was awarded to Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, TX. The purpose of this IDIQ contract is to provide, within its special competency areas, Technical Assistance and Research (TA&R) support to NRC program offices in performing and accomplishing their mission, programs and activities related to both the front and back end of the nuclear fuel cycle. The period of performance of this contract is from March 30, 2018, through March 29, 2019, with four option periods. The total potential value over the life of the award is $4,999,476.

Medical Technology Training On March 30, 2018, contract 31310018C0005 was awarded to Advanced Health Education Center in Houston, TX. The purpose of this contract is to obtain continued contractor support in providing medical technology training to NRC staff and Agreement State inspectors. The training shall be focused on medical uses of byproduct material that are licensed by the NRC and Agreement State regulatory programs, including nuclear medicine procedures, manual brachytherapy, remote after loader brachytherapy (HDR), gamma stereotactic radiosurgery, and other emergent medical treatments that involve byproduct material. The period of performance of this contract is from April1, 2018, through March 31, 2019, with two option periods. The total potential value over the life of the award is $924,811.
