I. SECY-18-0027 -TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY (CLINCH RIVER NUCLEAR SITE EARLY SITE PERMIT APPLICATION), DOCKET NO. 52-047-ESP, APPLICANTS APPEAL OF LBP-17-8 The Commission approved a Memorandum and Order addressing Tennessee Valley Authoritys appeal of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Boards decision in LBP-17-8, in which the Board granted a hearing request jointly filed by the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy and the Tennessee Environmental Council and admitted two contentions. The Memorandum and Order affirms in part and reverses in part the Boards decision.
(Subsequently, on May 3, 2018, the Secretary signed the Memorandum and Order.)
II. SECY-18-0034 - NORTHWEST MEDICAL ISOTOPES, LLC (MEDICAL RADIOISOTOPE PRODUCTION FACILITY), DOCKET NO. 50-609-CP, MANDATORY HEARING DECISION The Commission approved a Memorandum and Order addressing the required findings and the issues discussed at the uncontested hearing on January 23, 2018, concerning the application of Northwest Medical Isotopes, LLC, to construct a medical radioisotope production facility in Columbia, Missouri. The Memorandum and Order authorizes issuance of the construction permit, contingent upon inclusion of the revised permit condition described in Section II.B.
