I am responding to your November 4, 2011, letter regarding SECY-11-0133, Options to Evaluate Requests to Use Discounted Parent Company Guarantees to Assure Funding of Decommissioning Costs for Power Reactors. We appreciate the active engagement of the stakeholder community in these issues. The information provided by the stakeholder community, including the Nuclear Energy Institute, was the basis for the development of the options presented to the Commission. My staff reviewed your letter and determined that your points of view are represented in SECY-11-0133, as well as the views of other stakeholders. As you know, the issue is currently under consideration by the Commission. The staff will proceed on the issue after the Commission makes its decision.
