NEW NRC SENIOR RESIDENT INSPECTOR ASSIGNED TO TMI Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pa.,
have selected David Werkheiser as the new Senior Resident Inspector at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant in Middletown, Pa. He joins Resident Inspector Justin Heinley at the site, operated by Exelon Nuclear.
Werkheiser first joined the NRC in April 2003 as a reactor inspector in the Region I Division of Reactor Safety in King of Prussia, Pa.
Most recently, he was the Senior Resident Inspector at the Beaver Valley Power Station in Shippingport, Pa. He also was a Resident Inspector there.

Werkheiser earned bachelors and masters degrees in nuclear engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He was also completed a graduate fellowship with the U.S.
Department of Energy.
Each U.S. commercial nuclear plant has at least two NRC resident inspectors. They serve as the agency's eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public.
The TMI resident inspectors can be reached at 717-948-1165.
