NEW NRC RESIDENT INSPECTOR ASSIGNED TO BEAVER VALLEY NUCLEAR PLANT Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pa.,
have selected Erin Bonney as the new resident inspector at the Beaver Valley nuclear power plant in Shippingport, Pa. She joins NRC Senior Resident Inspector Dave Werkheiser at the two-unit site, which is operated by First Energy Nuclear Operating Company.
Bonney joined the agencys Region I office in 2009. Prior to entering federal service, she served in the United States Navy for five years, serving as a naval officer aboard two ships, USS The Sullivans and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. She has a degree in chemical engineering from Tulane University.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear plant has at least two NRC resident inspectors. They serve as the agency's eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public. Resident Inspectors can be assigned to any one site for up to seven years.
The Beaver Valley resident inspectors can be reached at 724/643-2000.
