NRC Staff to Release Volume 3 of Yucca Mountain Safety Report The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will issue the Yucca Mountain Safety Evaluation Report, Volume 3: Repository Safety After Permanent Closure at approximately 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16. The report will be posted on the NRC website around or shortly after that time. A press release will be issued with a link to the document.
Volume 3 documents the results of the NRC staffs evaluation to determine whether the proposed repository design complies with the performance objectives and requirements that apply after the repository is permanently closed.
