NRC RECOGNIZED FOR DIVERSITY/WORK LIFE BALANCE The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is one of 100 companies and government agencies recognized for diversity and work/life balance by Diversity/Careers in Engineering &

Information Technology magazine. This will make the fifth consecutive year the agency has received this recognition.

At the NRC, we recognize that an organization's reputation for supporting workplace diversity is an important factor in attracting and retaining a high-performing workforce, said Miriam Cohen, director of Human Resources. Equally important to the organizations reputation for hiring and cultivating diverse talent is the emphasis on how diversity continues to make the NRC a better place to work.

NRC was identified by the magazines readers and website visitors for its diversity strengths and as an employer of technical professionals. The survey results strongly recognized a number of NRCs diversity attributes including: support of minorities and women, attention to work/life balance and commitment to supplier diversity.

Since 2007, the NRC has consecutively captured the top ranking among large federal agencies as one of the Best Places to Work in the Federal Government by the Partnership for Public Service and the American University Institute for the Study of Public Policy Implementation.

The recognition list, 2011 Best Diversity Companies, appears in the June/July issue of the magazine and details of the survey are provided on their website.
