Merrifield met with the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board of India Feb. 7 - 11, for technical discussions and visits to selected nuclear power and research facilities.
The meetings were held to exchange information and further the dialog between the U.S. and the Indian government regarding nuclear reactor safety. This is the first visit to India by a member of the Commission since the U.S. and Indian government announced the Next Steps in the Strategic Partnership in January 2004.
