STOLEN MOISTURE DENSITY GAUGE On November 25,1997, the Region IV office received a facsimile notification from the State of Colorado of the theft of a portable moisture density gauge that was discovered by the State of Colorado licensee on November 22,1997.
The State of Colorado reported that a Troxler Model 3430A gauge was stolen from the bed of a licensee truck in Lakewood, CO. The chain securing the case containing the gauge to the truck had beun cut. The gauge contained 9 millicuries of cesium 137 and 44 millicuriei of americium 241.
NMSS has been informed.
