LOST PORTABLE GAUGE The Mississippi Division of Radiological Health notified NRC that the licensee had reported loosing a portable moisture density gauge. The gauge was a Campbell Pacific, Model MC Portaprobe, serial number MD 80804480, and contained about 10 millicuries of cesium-137 and 50 millicuries of americium-241. The device and container reportedly fell from a truck during transportation along Mount olivet Road, near , Starkville, MS during the evening of October 19, 1999. The device was-locked and contained inside a locked carrying case. The licensee L conducted a search that evening and is continuing their search.
