STOLEN TROXLER MOISTURE DENSITY GAUGE On March 9, 1998, an official of the State of Florida advised the Hordquarters Operations Center that the licensee reported the theft of a Trcxler moisture density gauge from a Company vehicle.
Tho theft occurred sometime over the weekend, March 7-8, 1998, and the gaugo, which was properly secured by a steel cable, was apparently taken from a Company truck in Melbourne, Florida, which was parked at the private residence of one of the licensrs's employee.
Ths otolen Troxler gauge is a Model 3411B, Serial Number 1163, containing 8 millicurie cesium 137 (Cs-137) aid 40 millicurie Americium-Beryllium.
L;ccl law enforcement officials from the city of Melbourne, FL have been nstified and have initiated an investigation.
i No 2:dia interest has been expressed, and the State is urging the liccusee to issue a press release today.
Tho Regional Duty Officer was notified of this event by the Headquarters Duty Officer at 5:00 p.m.,
March 9, 1998.
The Region will monitor the activities of the State.
