Company (SNC) shutdown Unit 2 due to turbine vibrations.

Unit 2 had been oporating at full power since December 3, 1993 following restart from the Cycle 9 refueling outage.

Unit 2 la planned to be shutdown for aparaximately six days to implement repairs on the secondary side.

Activities planned include the followings ranTir the number 2 low pressure turbine diaphraget adjust main feedwater lating valves; innpect the main generator for coolant leaks;

.stigate high vibration of the 2D intercept valve; boric acid treatment of steam generators; and a main turbine balance adjustment.

Fcrley's current schedule anticipates returning U.iit 2 to the grid shortly after 3:00 p.m. CST on December 27, 1993.

Unit 1 is currently operating at full power.

The NRC resident inspetors will monitor the licensee's maintenance activities.
