STOLEN TR0XLER M0ISTURE GAUGE FOUND This PN updates PNO-II-86-71, issued Wednesday, October 8, 1986.

State of Mississippi authorities informed Region II today that the stolen Troxler soil moisture gauge, reported stolen last week in Fulton, Mississippi, has been recovered and returned to the Department of Agriculture.

The gauge was found by a U. S. Park Service ranger along the Natchez Trace Parkway. The gauge has a six-inch square base and stands about 12 inches high with a carrying handle on top. Authorities report that the recovered gauge was in good shape and did not appear to have been tampered with. USDA is performing a leak test to ensure the integrity of the americium-beryllium source.

The State of Mississippi issued a press release on Tuesday, October 7.

The states of Alabama and Tennessee have been informed.
