SUBJECT:

UPDATE TO COMPONENT COOLING WATER PUMP BREAKER FAILURES On September 10, Region II issued a PN to describe the events leading to the dispatching of an augmented inspection team (AIT) to Farley to assess the circumstances surrounding two component cooling water (CCW) breaker failures. The AIT was conducted in accordance with the established Charter. The team reviewed the licensee's root cause investigations and generally agreed with the root cause determination to-date. The team further concluded that the two breaker failures appeared to be independent from each other and the licensee is taking appropriate corrective actions based on the identified failure mechanisms of the breakers. A public exit was conducted on September 20 in Dothan, AL. Local media and members of the public attended. A final report will be issued in 30 days following the exit.

This PN is closed and no further supplementals or updates will be issued.

This information is current as of September 28, 2007, at 11:00 a.m.
