AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT INVOLVING RADIOPHARMAC50ilCAL DELIVERY VEHICLE On October 4,1988 at 10:00 a.m. the licensee's facility manager notified NRC Region I of an automobile accident involving a radiopharmaceutical delivery vehicle. The accident occurred on October 3,1988 at 12:30 p.m. at an intersection in Jersey City, Ngw Jersey. These were no reported injuries, although the radiopharmaceutical delivery vehicle suffered significant damage as the result of rolling over. '

The vehicle was carrying 2 radiopharmaceutical doses containing approximately 20 mil 11 curies of technetium-99m each. The packages containing the radioactive material remained braced and suffered no damage. There was no release of radioactive material.  :

The accident is being investigated by the Jersey City Police Department. The police department requested assistance from the Hudson County Health Department.

The incident will be reviewed by an NRC Region I inspector during a previously scheduled routine inspection on October 5, 1988.
