FAILED TURBINE THRUST-BEARING l
The Unit 1 outage has been extended until approximately January 11, 1981 because of a failed Main Turbine Thrust Bearing discovered during initial Cycle 5 startup on December 24, 1980. The apparent cause of the failure was material left in the bearing casing following outage maintenance.
The licensee does not plan to issue a press release. No NRC press release is planned.
