This is an Observation Meeting. This is a meeting in which attendees will have an opportunity to observe the NRC performing its regulatory function or discussing regulatory issues. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments about the issues discussed following the business portion of the meeting; however, the NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.
Purpose:
A Pre-decisional Enforcement Conference (PEC) will be held to discuss apparent violations involving exporting radiological material and for reporting material transaction reports to NMMSS. The specific issues are discussed in the letter dated January 26, 2023, entitled U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Records Review, Thermo Fisher Scientific [Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Accession No. ML22188A104]. The conference will provide an opportunity for the entity to provide its perspective on the facts and findings, and any other information that it believes the NRC should take into consideration in making an enforcement decision.
