This is an Information Meeting with a Question and Answer Session. The purpose of this meeting is for the NRC staff to meet directly with individuals to discuss regulatory and technical issues. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments about the issues discussed throughout the meeting; however, the NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.
Purpose:
The purpose of this virtual workshop is to bring together NRC staff, regulated utilities, vendors of nuclear components, and other interested stakeholders to discuss vendor oversight issues related to operating reactors. Due to concerns regarding COVID-19 and the importance of social distancing, the NRC will be holding this workshop virtually.
Vendor inspection topics that will be discussed at this workshop include: (1) NRC staffs response to the Office of Inspector Generals report on Counterfeit, Fraudulent, and Suspect Items; (2) NUPIC audit team & supplier interface before, during, and after the audit; (3) required assessment of laboratories owned by the U.S. Department of Energy; (4) commercial-grade dedication inspections at licensees; (5) lessons learned from inspecting during a pandemic; (6) implementation of the EPRI guidance on hybrid and remote assessments; and (7) lessons learned from implementing the EPRI guidance on hybrid and remote assessments.
