REFERENCE:

DIRECTOR FOR OFFICE OF NUCLEAR SECURITY AND INCIDENT RESPONSE, MEMORANDUM DATED JUNE 27, 2019 Attached is the Office of the Inspector Generals (OIG) analysis and status of recommendations as discussed in the agencys response dated June 27, 2019. Based on this response, recommendation 1 is now closed. Recommendation 2 was previously closed. Therefore, all recommendations associated with this audit are now closed and no further action is needed. Thank you for your prompt attention to these recommendations.

Audit Report AUDIT OF NRCS FORCE-ON-FORCE SECURITY INSPECTIONS OF FUEL CYCLE FACILITIES OIG-18-A-21 Status of Recommendation Recommendation 1:

Develop and implement a procedure to ensure classified information is handled and secured properly on force-on-force inspections for Category I fuel cycle facilities.

Agency Response Dated June 27, 2019:

The Information Security Branch had developed a procedure to ensure that classified information is handled and security properly on force-on-force inspections for Category I fuel facilities. This procedure was completed on May 15, 2019.

Target Completion Date: Complete OIG Analysis:

OIG has reviewed the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response, Information Security Branch Procedure, Handling Classified Information On-site at Category I Fuel Facilities during Force-on-Force Inspections. This procedure meets the intent of recommendation 1 to develop and implement a procedure to ensure classified information is handled and secured properly on force-on-force inspections for Category I fuel cycle facilities. This recommendation is therefore considered closed.
