STATUS OF RECOMMENDATION: AUDIT OF NRCS HIGH-LEVEL WASTE PROGRAM (OIG-05-A-10)

REFERENCE:

DIRECTOR, OFFICE OF NUCLEAR MATERIAL SAFETY AND SAFEGUARDS MEMORANDUM DATED AUGUST 11, 2005 Attached is the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) analysis and status of the recommendation as discussed in the agencys response dated August 11, 2005.

Based on this response, recommendation 1 is closed. All action in response to OIG-05-A-10 is now complete.

Audit Report Audit of NRCs High-Level Waste Program OIG-05-A-10 Status of Recommendation Recommendation 1: Develop and implement a single agencywide HLW communication plan.

Response Dated August 11, 2005:

Attached is the Agencywide High-Level Waste Communications Plan developed in response to Recommendation 1 in OIG-05-A-10. Preparation of this Communications Plan has been coordinated with Region IV, the Spent Fuel Project Office, the Office of State and Tribal Programs, the Office of Public Affairs, the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board, the Office of the General Counsel, and the Director of Communications.

OIG Analysis:

The corrective action plan addresses the intent of OIGs recommendation. Recommendation 1 is closed.

Status:

Closed.
