AUDIT OF NRCS DRUG TESTING PROGRAM (OIG-05-A-05)

REFERENCE:

DIRECTOR, OFFICE OF ADMINISTRATION, MEMORANDUM DATED MARCH 20, 2008 Attached is the Office of the Inspector Generals analysis and status of recommendation 12 as discussed in the agencys response dated March 20, 2008. Recommendation 12 remains resolved, while all other recommendations are closed. Please provide an updated status of this recommendation by September 22, 2008.

Audit Report Audit of NRCs Drug Testing Program OIG-05-A-05 Status of Recommendations Recommendation 12:

Update the Management Directive System to include the drug testing policy and procedures that employees are expected to follow.

Response dated March 20, 2008:

ADM is on schedule to issue a revised NRC Drug Testing Manual, NUREG\\BR-0136, Revision 5, by August 30, 2008.

This manual will contain procedures that employees are expected to follow in accordance with the HHS approved Plan and the agreement reached between NTEU and NRC in the Memorandum of understanding, dated January 24, 2008.

OIG Analysis:

The corrective action addresses the intent of this recommendation. This recommendation will be closed when OIG evaluates the revised containing the drug testing policy and procedures that employees are expected to follow.

Status:

Resolved.
