SUBJECT:
CLOSEOUT OF IE BULLETIN 80-07 "BWR JET PUMP ASSEMBLY FAILURE" In your memorandum of March 20, 1985, you requested Regional followup on IEB 80-07, as described in Appendix C of NUREG/CR-3502 for Dresden 2/3, Duane Arnold, Monticello, and Quad Cities 1/2.
The issues identified in Appendix C concerning the long term resolution of the jet pump problem have been addressed at the facilities in question. All items were found satisfactory and closed with the exception of one item at Monticello. This open item, addressing the inspection of jet pump holddown beams, is expected to be closed in July, 1986.
Please find attached, excerpts from the reports documenting closure of the issues specified in Appendix C.
Documentation for closeout of the Monticello open item will be forwarded to you as soon as it is available.
