to ensure-a planned, organized, and documented approach to meeting the performance objectives and the technical requirements of 10 CFR Part 61.
The requirements stated in 10 CFR 61.12(j) provide the bases for developing a QA program and the guidance provided.
To ensure that the site meets the regulatory requirements, an applicant should have management controls in place at the beginning of the investigation of the disposal site's characteristics and the analyses to establish a base for its suitability. 'L

Site characterization'is one of the initial and most significant activities for determining the suitability of a site and demonstrating performance of an LLRW
