In response to your request to Richard Hartfield, Office of Resource Management and Dr. Gail Marcus, Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research, NRC, enclosed are some documents that might assist you in the preparation of your Biennial Science and Technology Report to the Congress.
I have enclosed the 1985 Annual Report and 1989-1991 Long-Range Research Plan and have marked with paper clips those sections which detail research developments for FY85 and 86. I have also enclosed an NRC publication which highlights major research accomplishments over a 5-year period which included these years, and a short piece giving a brief overview of areas of NRC research.
