SUBJECT:
EXPEDITED PRINTING OF MIDLAND SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT (NUREC-0793)
The Safety Evaluation Report for the Midland Plant Units 1 and 2, will be completed and ready for printing on May 7,1982.
It is requested that you take whatever action is necessary in order to have this SER printed and available for issuance by COB May 11, 1982. This urgency is required for the following reasons:
1.
Hidland is the subject of an ongoing, highly contested hearing.
2.
The ASLB is very interested in the SER and has requested that it be issued ASAP.
3.
There is tremendous press and public interest in the SER. The Office of Public Affairs has had numerous calls concerning its availability.
4.
The ACRS Subcommittee meeting is scheduled for May 20 and 21 with the full Comittee scheduled for June 3 and 4.
I would appreciate any assistance you can give us in expediting the schedule.
