50-355 Pursuant to the Commission Policy on Notification to Licensing Boards, Appeal Boards, or the Commission of new, relevant and material information, this '
memorandum calls attention to the publication of NUREG-0757, " Radon Releases from Uranium Mining and Milling and Their Calculated Health Effects," which contains infonnation relevant to the hearing of radon issues before the Atomic Safety and Licensing Appeal Board.
The radon release estimates documented in NUREG-0757 are based on the new infonnation which was introduced into the public record in the Appeal Board hearing in the above subjeut proceedings at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on February 26, 27 and 28, 1980, and in NUREG-0706, " Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement on Uranium Milling," dated September 1980.
In preparing the report, NUREG-0757, the staff made particular efforts to assure that the input data incorporated all of the latest information from the Appeal Board hearing and the GEIS on uranium milling. The radon release estimates given 8103230 M L

F Multiple Addressees FEB 2 61931 in NUREG-0757 have been normalized to the quantity of U 03 8 corresponding to one year's fuel consumption of a model 1000-MWe LWR, which is the basis for the other entries in Table S-3 of the regulation 10 CFR 51.20(e). When normalized on the same basis, the estimates in NUREG-0757 are consistent with estimates in the record of the Appeal Board hearing and in the GEIS on uranium milling.
