UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION FLOATING NUCLEAR PLANTS DOCKET NO 50-437 0FFSHORE POWER SYSTEMS NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF NRC FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT (PART III)
COMPARIS0N OF RISKS FROM THE ACCIDENTAL RELEASES OF RADI0 ACTIVITY TO THE ENVIRONMENT FOR FLOATING AND LAND-BASED NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission's regulations in Appendix M of 10 CFR Part 50 and 10 CFR Part 51, notice is hereby given that a Final Environmental State (FES), Part III providing a comparison of overall risk from accidental releases of radioactivity to the environment for floating and land-based plants has been prepared by the Commission's Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.
The FES also presents an integrated cost-benefit analysis for the floating nuclear plant concept and reflects on a cumulative basis, the elements of review in Parts I, II, and III.
This Statement (NUREG-0502) is Part III of the environmental review related to the issuance of a manufacturing license to Offshore Power Systems.
NUREG-0502 is available for inspection by the public in the Comission's Public Document Room at 1717 H Street, N.
