Dear Mr. Quay:
Enclosed is Revision 17 of the AP600 Standard Safety Analysis Report (SSAR). Also enclosed are the revised tables of contents, change page instructions, list of effective pages, document cover sheet, and L :hange roadmcp outlining the changes in each section. The revision is in the form of replacement sections to be inserted into the SSAR binders to replace the superseded pages. In response to your request, the original page revision rumbers are

retained when there are no charges even though the page may be reissued to simplify the revision process. The document cover sheet should be inserted in the front of Volume 1; the original document cover sheets should not be discarded. Twenty-five copies of this update are being sent directly to Joe Sebrosky for distribution to the NRC staff. As discussed with your staff, copies are being sent directly to NRC subcontractors.
