SUBJECT:

WCAP-14407, REV!SION 1, "WGOTlilC APPLICATlON TO AP600"

Dear Mr. Quay:

Enclosed are two copies of WCAP-14407, Revision 1, "WGOT111C Application to AP600", dated 7/97 which document the basis for the application of the WGOTillC code to predict the AP600 containment pressure response during a design basis accident.

The June 27,1997, requests for additional information on 2-D conduction are not addressed in this revision to the report. If any changes are necessary to Chapter 7 to incorporate responses to those RAls, a revision to that chapter will be issued.

A comparison of WGOTillC version 4.1 to version 1.2 will be issued before August 31,1997, as a separate letter report. This report will include an assessment of the impact on the plant calculation as well as the impact on the LST validation cases.

Responses to RAls and other open items related to Revision 0 of WCAP-14407 will be provided under separate cover. We will provide these responses to RAls and open items as they are developed and will complete these responses by August 22,1997. Responses to RAls that relate to the text of the report have been factored into the Revision 1 text.

The Westinghouse Electric Corporation copyright notice, proprietary information notice, application for withholding and affidavit are also attached.
