DPR-24 and DPR-27 Emergency Response Data System (ERDS) VPN Implementation Pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix E, Section V1.3, "Maintaining the Emergency Response Data System," NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC (NextEra) is submitting this letter to inform the NRC that changes to the Point Beach Nuclear Plant emergency response data system (ERDS) link software will be implemented on September 30, 201 1.
These changes involved a conversion from a dial-up modem based system to a more reliable internet based system using a plant information server and NRC supplied virtual private network (VPN) appliance. Testing of the VPN solution with the NRC ERDS resource desk was satisfactorily completed on September 13, 201 1.
