Nuclear Management Company, LLC (NMC), is submitting a reanalysis schedule as stated in NMC's letter to the NRC (Reference 1) regarding the Emergency Core Cooling System (ECCS)
Evaluation Model.
The ECCS Evaluation Model for Point Beach Nuclear Plants (PBNP) Units 1 and 2 is being reanalyzed for the PBNP Thermal Power Uprate Project to support a license amendment request for a proposed 17% Extended Power Uprate (EPU) for PBNP Units 1 and 2. The reanalysis will be using the Westinghouse NOTRUMP methodology for small break Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA) analyses and the Westinghouse ASTRUM methodology for the large break LOCA analyses. A separate large break analysis will be performed for each PBNP reactor unit because of the minor differences in the design of the steam generators between the units.
The small break and large break LOCA analyses are scheduled to be completed in 4Q08. The EPU License Amendment Request will contain the results of the small break and large break LOCA analyses. The EPU license amendment request is scheduled to be submitted in 1 Q09.
and no revisions to existing commitments.
