DOCKETS 50-266 AND 50-301 COMMITMENT DATE CHANGE CONTROL ROOM HABITABILITY POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT. UNITS 1 AND 2 In a letter to the NRC dated April 6, 2001, Nuclear Management Company, LLC (NMC) discussed a commitment to revise and submit radiological dose analyses for the control room, and a license amendment proposal as necessary to demonstrate continued conformance to the regulatory requirements and the Point Beach Nuclear Plant licensing basis.
During a telephone call between Beth Wetzel of the NRC staff and Jack Gadzala of NMC on January 9, 2002, an extension of the proposed February 1, 2002, completion date was discussed. Additional evaluations, requested by NMC to improve the quality of the radiological dose analyses, resulted in a later completion of the final dose analyses by our vendor, Westinghouse, than initially planned. This has slightly delayed the review of the completed analyses by onsite staff and necessitated extension of the submittal date to the NRC.
We therefore propose to change the commitment date for submitting a radiological dose analysis for the control room, and the corresponding license amendment request, to February 28, 2002.
Sincerely, Thomas H. aylor Plant Manager JG/kmd cc:
