I am seeking access to materials under the Freedom of Information Act.
I wish to examine records relating to the June 7, 2021 fire at Comanche Peak nuclear power plant in Glen Rose, TX.
I seek any reports that pertain to the fire, its cleanup, its cause and other details and findings.
I am interested in this in my capacity as a news columnist at The Dallas Morning News and disclosure of the requested information is in the public interest because it is likely to contribute significantly to public understanding of the agencys operations and activities. This is not for commercial use.
Because of that, I am asking the NRC to waive or reduce its fees for processing this request.
My statement of justification: This information will appear in my newspaper column. I am looking for information that can tell this events story to the public. The likely impact on the publics understanding will be formidable, due to the large print and online circulation of my newspaper. I will provide public access to the material. There are no commercial or private interests involved.
Thank you, Dave Lieber The Watchdog columnist The Dallas Morning News
