Notification of Intention Regarding NRC Inspection Report 05000341/2017009 (EA-17-012)

In Reference 2, the NRC documented a finding with an associated apparent violation that the NRC preliminarily determined to be White. The letter provided DTE Electric Company (DTE) with the opportunity to request a Regulatory Conference or to submit a written response. DTE appreciates the opportunity to respond to the NRC on this issue.

Mr. Kenneth Riemer, Chief, Branch 2, Division of Reactor Projects, was verbally notified on March 3, 2017 of DTE's intent to submit a written response on this matter but not to request a Regulatory Conference. As a follow-up to that verbal notification, this letter informs the NRC that DTE intends to submit our position on the proposed finding and apparent violation to the NRC in writing. As requested in Reference 2, the written response will be submitted within 40 days of the DTE receipt of the letter in Reference 2.

No new commitments are being made.

Should you have any questions or require additional information, please contact Mr. Scott A. Maglio, Manager -Nuclear Licensing, at (734) 586-5076.

Sincerely, Keith J. olson Site Vice President
