Subject:

Withdrawal of In-Service Inspection Relief Request RR-A35 In Reference 2, Detroit Edison submitted In-Service Inspection Program Relief Request, RR-A35, for Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for approval. RR-A35 proposed the use of an alternative to the sample selection for circumferential welds subject to the examination requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

Class 2, Category C-F-2, of the 1989 Edition of ASME Section XI. Based on conference calls held between Detroit Edison and the NRC staff on July 9 and September 30, 2009, the request for approval of Relief Request RR-A35 is hereby withdrawn.
